Church Membership

Church membership is a significant commitment that God expects of every Christian as they gather, worship, and grow along other disciples of Christ. Every disciple gives and gains when they are a member of a local church. As a member, you will give as you make a commitment before God to serve, love, and encourage the body of Christ. You will gain as you submit yourself to the oversight of a local congregation with its leadership for the purposes of assuring you of your salvation and growing as you are taught to become a more faithful disciple of Jesus. We hope that you will thoughtfully and prayerfully consider becoming a member at Churchill Baptist.

We have prepared the following steps to guide you through our membership process.

Becoming a Member at Churchill Baptist

Step 1: Read the following documents in preparation for applying for membership:

(1) Membership Commitments

(2) Statement of Faith

(3) Booklet: “Why Bother with Church” by Sam Allberry (Copies Provided in Church Office or available for purchase on Amazon.)

Step 2: Complete a membership request form. (Forms will only be viewed by the Elders.)

Step 3: Within two weeks, the Elders will review your membership request and contact you to schedule an in-person meeting with one or two Elders to help us get to know you better.

Step 4: After your meeting with one or two elders, the whole Elder team will discuss your membership request and consider recommending you for membership to the congregation.

Step 5: Your name will be published to the congregation for 2 weeks informing them of your request to commit to the church as a member. Only your name will be published to the congregation for viewing, not your membership request form or any other information.

Step 6: At a future members' meeting, the current membership will vote to receive you as a member.
